Did you know....

Sure we have all experienced some level of stretching in the past but did you know that studies have shown by using our muscles in a dynamic way and holding a stretch anywhere from 20 seconds to minutes at a time is the key to creating permanent change in the muscle fibers. Stretching is a topic we often talk about in our clinic as a way to improve strength, range of motion, and injury prevention. We encourage you to take a minute or two to practice the simple act of stretching, keep in mind long breathes and be patient. For those who have fun goals such as doing the splits, longer holds will give you more of a chance to progress because you are giving your muscles a chance to warm up, soften and lengthen.
